Project Name: Eco-friendly plates and cutlery manufacturing from biodegradable materials (Areca Leaf) Description: There are so many plastic products that we regularly using even after knowing so many harmful effects on the environment. India has imposed a ban on single-use plastics in an effort to tackle the country's rapidly increasing levels of plastic pollution. Rather than using plastic products we can use plates and cutlery made from Biodegradable material e.g. Areca Leaf. Which are more eco-friendly & do not leave behind toxic chemicals or residues Assam has abundant Areca Trees. These Areca Palm trees are cultivated for "Betel Nuts" which is chewed and is used in making Pan. Each Areca Tree sheds 10 to 15 leaves every year. Benefits of plates and cutlery products made from Areca leaf are 1. In NE region, eco-friendly plates and cutlery are available only at very few areas, which has very large market potential. 2. Employment generation by incorporating woman in this project from nearby area 3. Very few competitors in biodegradable product 4. Availability of raw material 5. High Market Demand 6.
